Rating and reporting
Explain improves from what people tell it. You can rate an explainer you made, and anyone can report a problem with any explainer. Both go to the Scrimba team, not to other viewers.
Rating your explainer
When your explainer has finished generating, the top-left corner of the player asks Happy with this video? with a thumbs up and a thumbs down:
- Yes, it's good records your verdict, and you'll see a short "Thanks!".
- No, it's bad opens a box asking what went wrong. Write what didn't work and send it. If you close the box without writing anything, your thumbs down still counts.
The question stays until you answer it, and you're asked once per explainer.
Only the person the explainer was made for sees it: its creator, or someone who opened a claim link and hasn't claimed the explainer yet. Other viewers usually see a Feedback button at the top of the player instead, which opens a survey about Explain.
Reporting an issue
Every explainer has a Report issue button under the video. It's also in the player's cog icon menu.
Click it, describe the problem, and send it. You don't need an account. What you write goes to the Scrimba team as a support ticket, so they can follow up.
When you're signed in, replies come to your email. If you're signed out, Scrimba asks you to sign in after you send, so the team has a way to reply.
Sign in and your report moves to your account. If the team already replied, that reply is emailed to you.
If one bad slide is the whole problem and you own the explainer, redoing the slide is usually quicker.
