Copying links
Sharing an explainer means sharing its URL. The player gives you three things to copy, depending on where the explainer is going: its page, the player on its own, or an embed for your site.
Where to find them
Click the cog icon on the right of the player's bottom bar. The menu has Copy link, Copy fullscreen link and Copy embed code. Each one puts its link or code on your clipboard.
Copy link is also a copy icon button on the player itself, and an item in the right-click menu on the explainer.
You don't need to own an explainer to copy its link.
Copy link copies the explainer's address:
https://scrimba.com/explain/guide098kq1ukgIt opens the explainer's page, with the player in Windowed view and the title, description and transcript below it.
Copy fullscreen link
Copy fullscreen link copies the same address with ?fullscreen=1 on the end:
https://scrimba.com/explain/guide098kq1ukg?fullscreen=1It opens the explainer in Fullscreen view: the player covers the page, so the viewer lands on the lesson alone instead of the page around it. That suits sending a lesson to students or a class. Viewers can still switch to Windowed view themselves. See Player controls.
Copy embed code
Copy embed code copies an iframe with the explainer's address in it, ready to paste into your own site. The address needs nothing extra: a page loaded inside an iframe shows only the player. See Embedding explainers.
When they don't appear
- Private explainers. None of the three appear, and neither does the copy button, because a private explainer's link only works for people it's shared with. Set it to unlisted or public first. See Privacy, claiming and sharing.
- Embedded players. Inside an embed, the settings menu only has Show Captions and Vertical view, so there's nothing to copy.
