Transcript

Every explainer's page shows the full narration as text, below the player, under the heading Transcript. Use it to read at your own pace, or to skim for the part of the lesson you need.

What's in it

The transcript is the text the narrator reads, in order, from the first slide to the last. Where a part of the narration has its own heading, the transcript shows it above that part.

The transcript is plain text on the page. It doesn't scroll along or highlight as the narration plays, and clicking it doesn't move the player.

To jump to a point in the lesson, use the timeline in the player. To follow along word by word, turn on captions: see Player controls.

The AI disclaimer

Directly above the transcript, every explainer page carries this note:

Explain is AI and can make mistakes. Please do your own diligence.

Explainers are generated by AI, so check anything important against a reliable source before you rely on it. When an explainer drew on web sources, they are listed as links under Sources, above the note. See Web search and sources.

When the transcript isn't shown

• Fullscreen view. The player covers the page, transcript included. Switch to Windowed view to see it again. See Player controls.
• Embedded players. An embedded explainer shows only the player.
• Explainers you can't open. If you don't have access to an explainer, for example a private one that hasn't been shared with you, the page shows Locked explainer with no transcript. See Privacy, claiming and sharing.
