Regenerating narration

If an explainer's narration has gone wrong, for example a slide that stays silent, you can have all of it recorded again. Right-click the explainer, or open the cog icon menu in the player, and choose Regenerate narration.

The option shows on explainers you own, while you're signed in, once the explainer has narration.

What changes

Every line of narration is cleared and recorded again from scratch. The script stays the same: the words, the slides and everything on them are untouched. Only the audio is new.

Scrimba also picks the narration voice again, so the new recording may not use the same voice as before.

Regenerate narration or redo a slide?

• Redo slide rewrites one slide from your instruction, with new content and new narration for that slide.
• Regenerate narration changes no content. It records the audio for the whole explainer again.

If the words are wrong, redo the slide. If the words are fine but the audio isn't, regenerate the narration.

Exported videos

Regenerating the narration retires an exported video, because the video would no longer match. The Download video and Download captions items disappear from the menu, and you export again to get a video with the new narration.

If a render is still running when you regenerate, it restarts by itself.
