Privacy, claiming and sharing
Your agent hands you a link to an explainer of your own code. Who else can open it? Every explainer has an owner and a visibility level, and they matter most for the ones created outside Scrimba (from ChatGPT or a coding agent), so here is the full picture.
Visibility levels

Explainers you create on Scrimba are yours from the start, and you set their visibility on the explainer page.
Claiming
Explainers created outside Scrimba don't belong to a Scrimba account yet:
- ChatGPT explainers are unlisted by default. The link works immediately, for you and anyone you send it to.
- Explainers from other MCP integrations are private by default. The creation link from your agent carries a claim token (
?claim=...in the URL): opening it and signing in claims the explainer.
Claiming an explainer makes it yours: it appears in your Scrimba account, you can rewatch it any time without keeping the original link, and you control its visibility from then on. Sign in when you open a fresh explainer and claim it from the page.
Claiming is also when Scrimba starts generating the paid parts of an agent-made explainer (narration audio and images), which is why a private draft asks you to sign in before it plays.
Sharing
Sharing an explainer is sharing its URL. Set it to unlisted to share with specific people, or public to share with everyone. If you own the explainer, you can change the level at any time from the explainer page.
